Matt Baker and The Trio, a fiery New York contemporary jazz ensemble, will be presenting music from their new album. Direct from the core of the big apple and featuring Jim Cammack on double bass (30 years with the Ahmad Jamal Trio) and young drumming sensation Darrian Douglas, the trio plays with a sound capturing the spirit of underground New York jazz, presenting an exciting program of fresh-arranged jazz standards and more - A night of swingin’ jazz with a contemporary edge!

Australian Jazz Pianist Matt Baker has performed at jazz festivals, clubs and concert halls in Australia, Europe, USA and the Pacific. As of 2010, he is now proud to call New York City his home.

Matt regularly plays in the top NYC jazz clus, including engagements at Birdland, Smalls Jazz Club, The Iridium, and Bemelmans Bar in The Carlyle Hotel He performs professionally with some of New York’s top musicians and once performed an impromptu duo set with trumpet legend Roy Hargrove at Smalls Jazz Club. Matt has also toured as Pianist and Musical Director for multi-platinum recording artist Patrizio Buanne, and Grammy award winning singer Judy Collins.
